The long list of the books I loved this year .

I don’t like Christmas anymore. The end of the year festivities make me feel melancholic, more and more, it must be what getting older is about, loosing energy and maybe curiosity or enthusiasm, and also thinking about people who are gone.

But it’s also time for the lists of the best photobooks, and I love photobooks very much, and I have never enough of them. They give some meaning to this crazy world we live, or at least they try in some way. And that still works for me. They carry enough beauty, or kindness, hope or anger to make me feel less lonely or out of place.

Some are already at San Telmo museum, some will stay at home. Here is the long list of books I loved this year, without order or priority. It has been a good year for books, and unfortunately I must have missed a lot.

I am sure I forget some, I always do, and some are still on their way to my home. There are beautiful catalogues also (Arles’ Japanese Women, Le Bal’s Ishimoto, Paula Anta) , but I usually don’t add them to the list. Also some very necessary reeditions this year (think Clavarino) …
